We love our story time, about once a month because if we go each week Troy gets bored. We like Curious George but not the Original one...that one is weird..george smokes a pipe in it. Lots of dump truck books and roller coaster books, i don't know any authors or titles,...did i help? but i just read. Mommies Who Drink...by Brett Paesel. it was great!! recommend it.
A couple of Gunner's favorites, I can't remember authors, but they are all usually easy to find:
Nightmare in my Closet Bear Snores on Good Dog Carl (no words, so he gets to make up the story about each picture...good for practicing narrative speech and a lot of fun to hear what he comes up with) Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Chicka Chicka 123
I just read an amazing book for the book club I am in, I couldn't put it down. It is called "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult. Just make sure you have a box of tissues, as a mother it is a pretty intense read.
These are few of Tate's favorites as well: Bear Snores On (I love this one too) Chugga Chugga Choo Choo Trains by Gail Gibbons (her books are non-fiction for children and have a lot of information in them. We also have Horses and The Moon Book, but Trains is his favorite) Mouse Count Owl Babies
Hope these help, I liked seeing the other books people have liked so we can go explore some others (we all know that it gets old sometimes reading the same book over and over!) I'm sorry I just haven't had time to pick up a book myself, so no reading myself lately. Not sure when I'll be able to, hopefully after Ayden's birthday parties!
Okay...I get all my info online, so I have a couple of good sites to recommend for book reviews, music reviews, etc. The first is called www.zooglobble.com. It's a blog site dedicated to reviewing kiddie music. The second is www.theedgeoftheforest.com, which is a website/monthly newsletter dedicated to reviewing kiddie lit. Have fun!
Thanks girls! So since I originally posted this we have now read some of your suggestions!
Bear Snores On (great one!) Good Dog Carl...Carrie, you were right, it was fun to hear how Ethan told the story! There's a Nightmare in My Closet (We also own and love, "There's an Alligator Under My Bed") Owl Babies (Ethan memorized this one in a day)
Some of Ethan's latest favorites...
Click Clack Moo...Cows that type Any Curious George Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (one I remembered from childhood) If You Give a Mouse a Cookie Just a Little Bit When Sophie gets Angry...really really Angry
Becky, thanks for the links to those blogs! The music one has a You Tube video of a clip from the movie "Once" which I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!It was a great little movie...
